Proud Sponsor of the Celina Rodeo

Published On: June 10th, 2024|

At Daystar Landscapes, Inc., we are delighted to have been a sponsor for the Celina Rodeo, held at the iconic Southfork Ranch in Parker, Texas, from May 31 to June 2. This inaugural event drew nearly sold-out crowds on Friday and Sunday, and a full house on Saturday night, despite the rainy weather. It was heartening to see the enthusiasm and excitement of the attendees, as noted by Melissa Cromwell, President and CEO of the Celina Chamber of Commerce. “It was better than we ever thought it would be,” Cromwell said. “It was just a dream come true for a lot of Celina people.” The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their love for the event and a keen interest in future rodeos in Celina.

Bringing the Wild West to Life

To enhance the rodeo experience, we at Daystar Landscapes, Inc. created a photo opportunity area that showcased plants arranged to resemble the Wild West. This setup not only added to the rodeo aesthetic but also provided a unique and memorable backdrop for attendees to capture their rodeo memories.

Interactive Giveaway

In addition to our landscaping efforts, we held a special giveaway for rodeo attendees. We placed QR codes on our plant pots, inviting attendees to scan the code for a chance to win artisan handmade plant pots. This interactive element added an extra layer of fun and engagement to the event, allowing us to connect with the community in a meaningful way.

Rodeo Tree-lined Entrance

Signage welcomed rodeo goers to this great event.  The beautiful tree-lined drive into the Rodeo was installed by Daystar Landscapes in 1996.  With our Company celebrating 40 years in business our roots run deep.  We believe in the importance of lineage and are proud to support Celina Chamber and their embracing the lineage of rodeo roots and strong men and women.

Celebrating Tradition and Community

The Celina Rodeo was more than just an event; it was a celebration of tradition and community. The rodeo featured three different themes throughout the weekend: “Thank a Veteran,” “Tough Enough to Wear Pink,” and “Wear Orange to Support Celina ISD.” The proceeds from ticket sales benefited several worthy causes, including American Legion Post 145, the Tuman Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Celina ISD Future Farmers of America (FFA). Over $20,000 in agriculture scholarships were awarded last month, and $5,000 was donated to FFA for the state conference this summer. Ruth Nicolaus, publicist for Rodeo Celina, expressed excitement about having a professional rodeo that brings people together. “Keeping agritourism is a main goal for Celina as it grows,” said Cromwell, “and having a rodeo is a great way to achieve that. An arena offers benefits like rodeos, equine events, stock shows through the school, and potential for a school rodeo team.”

Looking Forward

As Celina continues to grow, events like the Celina Rodeo play a crucial role in preserving and celebrating the western tradition. At Daystar Landscapes, Inc., we are honored to be part of this journey and look forward to supporting future rodeos and other community events. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Celina Rodeo. We can’t wait to see you again next year!
